SALUTATION TO THE THREE MAIN OBJECTS OF VENERATIONS

Vandami cetiyam sabbam - I Salute every Cetiya
Sabba thanesupatitthitam - that stands in any place,
Saririka dhatu maha bodhim - the bodily relics, the Great Bodhi
Buddharupam sakalam sada. - and all images of the Buddha.

Vande tam Bodhi-padapam. - Even that Bodhi-tree do I adore.

*the original tree which the Buddha sat under has died due to ageing, the present tree is the descendent of the original tree, growing over the remains of the original tree
Ime ete Maha-Bodhi - Those great Trees of Enlightenment,
Loka-Nathena pujita, - Reverenced by the Lord of the world,
Aham'pi te namassami - I too shall salute you!
Bodhi-Raja nama'tthu te! - May there be homage to you, O Royal Bodhi!
