Coronation of the 14th Yang Dipertuan Agong, King of Malaysia :Long live the King!

11th April marks another important chapter in Malaysian history books : the coronation of His Majesty Almu'tasimu Billahi Muhibbudin Tuanku Alhaj Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah as the 14th Yang Dipertuan Agong, the 14th in line, chosen from the Council of Malay Rulers.
Fact file :
* His majesty was first proclaimed as the 5th Yang di-Pertuan Agong in 1970 when he was 42 years old and now, he has been elected as the 14th Yang di-Pertuan Agong at the age of 84.
*He is the first Sultan to hold the position twice.
*He is the oldest Malay Ruler to be crowned Yang di-Pertuan Agong at 84 years 15 days, beating the previous record holder, Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz of Selangor, who was crowned at 73 years 49 days.
*He is only the fourth Sultan in a line of 28 Sultans who have celebrated 50 years of reign in Kedah.
* He is perhaps the only Supreme Ruler to be served by two prime ministers, who were connected by blood in his previous and present reign as the Yang Dipertuan Agong, first by the late Tun Abdul Razak and now his son Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
He was quoted saying this on the country's leadership and his coronation as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong for the second time in Star Online, 12 April 2012: “Indeed, after more than four decades, by God's will, my previous and present reigns, I was fortunate to be served by two prime ministers, who were connected by blood.Firstly, during the administration of the late Tun Abdul Razak. And now the Government is under the leadership of his son Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.”
